Sonya Caruso, M.A., CFRM, MCHC, NBC- HWC

My mission is to empower my clients to take control of their health and wellness, revitalize their lives and thrive.

I am a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and a former non-profit executive. I am passionate about helping adults in the areas of nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle. I have a passion for guiding people through growth and transformation, overcoming personal barriers.

I have experienced life changing transformations, including my own. After extensive research, I started following a food elimination process, changing my dietary choices and nutritional intake. From this process, I was able to resolve debilitating allergies that I had lived with for more than two decades. Adding to the groundwork of that success, I modified my diet and lifestyle further and started implementing techniques to reduce the impact of stress. As a result, I was able to reverse my Hashimoto’s Thyroid condition, a Hypothyroid disease that I was told was permanent.

Thanks to my journey, I am determined to help others find practical, long-term solutions that restore their energy and vitality. Through the years, our bodies and lifestyles change, and we can find ourselves struggling with a variety of health-related challenges. There are solutions to overcome these challenges and embrace a more fulfilling and energized way of living. I support my clients in the
development of a personalized plan that includes evaluation, education and implementation of nutrient-dense food choices and behavior modification.

My personal goal is to live an energized life and invest in my passions. I have a passion for healthy eating and fitness, and love cooking and baking. I have been a dedicated runner for 30 years including completing several marathons. I practice yoga and Pilates. I prefer being outside, hiking and taking in the unique aspects of each season as well as slowing down to cultivate my garden. I live for opportunities to travel and discover the beauty of our fascinating world. My family is my greatest joy. Luckily, my husband is from Sardinia Italy, one of the coveted Blue Zone areas (where people have low rates of chronic disease and live longer). Together, my family and I wholeheartedly embrace a blended Mediterranean, Southern California lifestyle.
