“The most important thing that any of us can do to comfort the grieving is to listen when they want to talk – and to accept their silence if they are unable to speak about their loss.” -Susan Jacoby

The experience of grief is as individual as there are people on the face of the earth. Each person’s walk with grief is different. Yet there are many who find comfort in the opportunity to be with those who have also experienced grief – sometimes to share their experience, sometimes to listen and learn from others how they cope with grief, sometimes just to draw comfort in knowing that they are not alone on this journey.

Rev. Dr. Sharon L. Bryant is a chaplain with VITAS Healthcare. She draws on her past experience as a counselor, a Protestant pastor, and a hospital and hospice chaplain to create a safe space for those experiencing grief to come together to support each other on this unique journey.
