Melissa McClave
As a 2018 INELDA-trained Death Doula with Last Acts Of Love, with continuing education through the CSUSM Shiley-Haynes Institute of Palliative Care, I guide individuals through end-of-life options, advocating for their choices and providing personalized support. My mission is to normalize discussions about the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of dying. I host monthly Death Cafes, Terminal Talks, and Advance Health Care Planning Discussions, plus a quarterly San Diego Oasis series, “What is a Death Doula and Their Role in Modern Death Care Lecture and Discussion.” As a volunteer, I serve with Compassion & Choices, The Hemlock Society of San Diego, the Vista Senior Center, and a local hospice. I’m an active board member of the San Diego Coalition for Compassionate Care and a proud member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance and the Empowered Endings Foundation. My work fosters open, compassionate conversations to empower individuals and families during life’s final chapter.
