Eddie Omens
Artist
Since 2010, Eddie Omens has had the honor of sharing his passion for art and watercolor with his Oasis students and friends. Eddie grew up on Chicago’s notorious south side and loved it. After attending Chicago (Loyola University) College of Dental Surgery, he enlisted in the US Public Health Service. He lived in La Jolla, Encinitas, and settled in Mission Hills with his amazing wife Mary Jane. Eddie loves teaching watercolor and ink techniques in a fun, easy to understand way (it’s not rocket science). Painting and art is a basic human instinct and in our DNA (i.e., give a 2 year old a crayon and a blank wall and watch a creation appear). Even if you have never taken an art class, sketched or painted since Grammar School, together we will create art simply by dipping a brush into some watercolor paint and applying it to paper. How to start? You will need a little set of watercolors, a couple of brushes, watercolor paper, a pencil or pen, and curiosity mixed with a bit of enthusiasm. Please join us…so many nice people do!
