Someone told Joyce Siegel she should check out Oasis. She did. Twenty-three years and countless wonderful experiences later, she’s more committed than ever to make sure others check it out and stay.

“I donate to Oasis twice a year during each of the major fundraisers because I love Oasis,” says Joyce. “I see how phenomenally the programs have grown and I want this momentum to continue.”

Joyce started by volunteering at the Oasis center in the Washington Metropolitan area as a tutor for ten years. She still volunteers and takes a variety of classes, everything from exercise to art to criminal justice.

“My husband Mel and I have not only benefited from the lifelong learning classes, but have also made lifelong friends along the way,” she says. “Oasis was a lifesaver when I started and now it’s a place I can’t imagine not contributing to by volunteering and giving. We want to see continued growth in terms of new instructors, expansion to new venues and the intrinsic sense of community one experiences in classes, on trips or in one of the ongoing discussion groups.”

There are a number of ways to give to Oasis, including through annual mail campaigns, by donating online, or through planned gifts, among other options. To find out more, visit www.oasisnet.org/donate
