Mirian Hong

Dr. Mirian Lee Hong is a native of Brazil and an accomplished scholar and educator with a passion for language and cultural exchange. She earned her Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on Latin American literature, cultural studies, and second language acquisition. In addition to Spanish, Dr. Hong also specializes in Portuguese language instruction, drawing on her native fluency and deep cultural knowledge.

Over the years, Dr. Hong has taught Spanish and Portuguese at a variety of institutions, including UC Berkeley, Chabot College, and Palomar College. Her teaching emphasizes communication, cultural competence, and student engagement, creating a dynamic classroom where learners feel confident and motivated to grow.
