Virginia Berger

A retirement coach, Virginia helps Baby Boomers create an inspired action plan for their retirement that reflects their values and dreams. A retiree herself, Virginia has successfully navigated the transition from a full-time position as an ESL instructor and program chair at Grossmont College, to part-time work in the same field, to starting a business in a completely new field, coaching.

Virginia started her coaching career in 2009 helping at-risk community college students make a successful transition to the demands of the academic world. She became a Certified Professional Coach(CPC) and went on to earn her Certified Retirement Coach credential. She is also a certified facilitator of Conscious Aging workshops. In addition to one-on-one and group coaching, Virginia does presentations on retirement and aging at Oasis, the Osher Institute at SDSU, senior communities and other organizations.

Virginia lives in San Diego with her favorite retiree turned writer, her husband George. Her choral singing brings her great joy as does travel, especially to visit her two sons and grandsons, Matthew and Joaquin. Walking, yoga, meditation, and dancing keep her focused, healthy, and flexible.
